Study I is a handmade book created during my residency with
AllowingManyForms in the Fall of 2022. It is constructed through bringing together fragments of other books.
This book might be about reconstruction and the subtle connections formed between pages. Some pages are folded and cropped, and others are intact. Some sequences are quietly choreographed, and others present themselves boldly.
The book is meant to be viewed from front to back, at a medium pace, with a few pauses when it feels inviting to stay a little longer with the material composition.
The book documents the process of considered collection of found books; complete deconstruction of their contents to perceive new formations; and the making of a composition through careful selection, self-reflection, and resonance.
It equally captures intentional choices and unintended consequences. It sometimes contains stillness and pause, or a sudden release.
